Fly Fishing Instruction & Guiding

We provide introductory and advanced fly fishing instruction and guiding from central Illinois. Use our decades of fly fishing and instructing to learn the basics or new hat tricks for effortless casting and productive fishing. Time on the water is precious. It should not be spent in frustration.

With our years spent running a fly shop, guiding, and fishing, we provide very reliable advice on fly fishing gear, technique, and destinations. Less so with marital advice. That, we offer for free and it's worth every penny it costs.

We provide equipment for instruction so you can learn what works for you before investing in it. We don't have gear to sell. Our biases come from time on the water and we'll tell you exactly what we use on it.

Classes  - (basic, advanced, and on the water) can be arranged for individuals, couples or small groups. We've even been known to do special fly fishing presentations for program-starved clubs.

We encourage your questions and are happy to respond to your inquiries.This site is not intended to be an on-line substitute for the many great books that have been written on fly fishing. If you haven't read one, we have some recommendations for you. If you have, read more of them.
